LTECenter - Rules

Rules

These rules are put in place to encourage creativity and hard work into making a LTE. Following these rules are absolutely not required for writing an LTE (writer creativity and individuality should always come first), however, to prevent low quality submissions onto this site, they are enforced in the context of our ranking at LTECenter.

  1. Write your own LTE.
Plagarism is not tolerated and will result in your entry being removed from the list.
  2. Do not spam characters in your LTE.
This is acceptible in small amounts (< 20 characters) for situational emphasis, however repeated acts of this will be scrutinized.
  3. Do not copy and paste needlessly into your LTE.
Acceptible when citing a source or showing off a cool website (via link), otherwise keep pasted contents to a 100 character minimum for each entry.
  4. Proper formatting is required to be listed.
When referencing an external source, use an anchor tag rather than pasting the link in plain text. When copying information from an external source, it is highly recommended you paraphrase instead of paste.
  5. A minimum of 5 thousand characters is required on your LTE before submission.
This only applies when directly submitting your LTE to be listed. Inactive LTEs with lower character counts may be listed purely for archival sake.
  6. Your LTE needs to be in (mostly) English to be listed.
This rule is only in place due to language barriers. We intend to host only English LTEs, however we encourage anyone to make their own language-specific lists if they so please.
  7. The content of your LTE needs to be coherent.
Similarly to the previous rule, any LTEs consisting of nonsensical rambling will be subject to being labelled untrue.
  8. Submitted LTEs need to be created for the express purpose of being an LTE.
Anyone can write whatever they please, however we are a website focusing on LTEs in particular. So, please don't submit a book you published for profit and submit it to our site.
  9. An accurate character counter is required for wherever you host your LTE.
This can either be through a pre-made character counter such as the one on Google Docs or your own, as long as it accurately counts the amount of characters in your LTE. If you are hosting through a service like Neocities and do not have a character counter, don't fret! We made one for you to use, with internal documentation!
  10. All text must be on one single page and immediately accessible.
The goal of a Longest Text Ever is to make the longest wall of text. It won't be such a wall if there's hidden text!
